MN Creations, Visagie Collaborate on BOLD Collection

Adriano Visagie wants you to feel ‘Bold’ in his latest clothing line, a collaboration between himself and fashion brand MN Creations, owned by designer Mathew Erastus. The line was inspired by a lifelong desire the radio personality and actor has had to put out his own work.

“This was also inspired by the endless hard work of Namibian designers who never get an opportunity to showcase their work of art,” he says.

This was a reality he learned about while serving on the Fashion Council of Namibia, he says. Having been dressed by MN Creations for years now already and after releasing an underwear line together in 2019, the pair felt it was the perfect time to make a beeline for a fuller range.

BOLD is made up of tops and bottoms that can be worn in both masculine and feminine styles. Prices start at N$200.

“You get a fusion of high waist pants for both men and women, turtle necks which are usually so hard to find, unisex shorts and shirts and customized blazers and beltless pants,” says Visagie, who also modeled the items on his social media pages.

It is there where new items will be unveiled each week, for those who want to get their hands on a uniquely Namibian product.

The line, which both parties were part of envisioning, employs a lot of bright colours and bold patterns, a true testament to its name. This range has a certain vibrance to it that comes just in time for spring, which will definitely see many people needing items that show a bit more skin.

The soft rosé champagne coloured crew neck t-shirt with its matching shorts are a soft and delicate material, while the dark but lightweight polo-necks are the perfect way to transition into the warmer season.

Erastus has been a designer for the last 11 years and runs a brand known for its daring approach to style. What he says he loved most about the collection was being able to do something different and getting to play with colour.

On working with Visagie, Erastus says their familiarity made it an easy process.

“And just knowing he could pull off almost everything added to the excitement,” says Erastus.

Visagie says the line is for those who consider themselves daring, confident and courageous and describes the range as unorthodox as they have not classified the collection as either street-style or semi casual, as it would defeat the purpose of the collection.

“The collection combines contemporary colours, especially pink, which has never really been my favourite colour as I always thought it was for girls, so we are fusing the mixology of easy to wear and comfort for both men and women,” he says.

As a final world to local consumers, Visagie encourages the public to buy and support locally produced goods to create a culture of fraternisation across industries. He is currently promoting Lize Ehlers’ theatre production ‘Boet ‘n Sus’ and the recently released Namibian short film ‘Kapana’, both of which have him in leading roles.
