Missing woman still not accounted for

A KALKRAND resident who was last seen in Windhoek three weeks ago remains missing three days after the Police appealed for the public’s help in establishing her whereabouts.

According to the Police’s Public Relations and Liaison Division, neither Kalkrand resident Sanna Helena Garoës herself, nor anyone who knows where she might be, have contacted the Police with information on her whereabouts, after a first appeal was issued on Sunday for the public to help to find out where she is. Garoës went missing exactly three weeks ago, on June 13.According to the Police she was last seen in front of Zum Wirt restaurant in Windhoek’s Independence Avenue at about 23h00 that night.She had travelled from Kalkrand to Windhoek that day, the Police said on Sunday.Garoës herself or anyone with information on where she is have been asked to contact the Police at telephone (061) 209 4414 between 08h00 and 17h00, or through the cellphone number 081 127 5510.Anyone who has information on the discovery of human remains at lay-bys next to the B1 road to the north and south of Windhoek on June 17 and 20 can contact the Police using the same phone numbers.A female torso, cut into two pieces, was found in a rubbish bin next to the B1 road some 42 kilometres north of Windhoek on June 17.On June 20, two human thighs were found in another rubbish bin next to the B1 road some 65 km south of the city.The Police confirmed this week that they believe that these body parts belonged to the same person, whose lower legs and feet, arms and hands, and head are still missing.Garoës went missing exactly three weeks ago, on June 13.According to the Police she was last seen in front of Zum Wirt restaurant in Windhoek’s Independence Avenue at about 23h00 that night.
