Miss High School North to be crowned on Wednesday

The 7th annual Miss High School North 2019 is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 18 December at Ekamuti lodge at Ondangwa.

This event is being organised by Kashipu Investment CC, under the theme ‘Empowering Young Women Through The Beauty of Art’.

The organiser, Sandro Ithana, said the event is aimed at giving young women who live in the northern part of the country a chance to showcase their hidden talents in order to lift their confidence.

“It also gives the northern community a great opportunity to take a look at the potential that these young girls have, as well as their capability to make vital contributions to the well-being of their communities. The girls will also have an opportunity to develop their mindsets, by raising awareness about contemporary issues and social ills that affect the youth, during their campaigns,” Ithana said.

Since the event was established in 2013, Ithana says the contestants have been successful in the pageant industry. Their success is a clear indication that contestants can compete at a national level.

“Some of the great achievements include Ester Shifotoka who was crowned Miss High School North 2015. She won Miss Nust First Princess in 2016 and then was crowned Miss Nust 2017. Shifotoka also made it to Miss Namibia 2019 top 30. Another success story is with Frieda Pandeni Mvula, a Miss High School North 2016 finalist who was crowned Miss Plus Size Namibia 2018,” he said.

Fidel Nambundunga will be host of the event, while Miss Namibia 2018 Selma Kamanya will be the special guest. Artists such as Kaboy Kamakili, Buti Vuitton, Kapa KaMandela, Jive Jittaz, General Jittaz, Lucid Meno, Skipper Wills and Family Gang will entertain the crowd.

Ithana said the first 100 people at the event will get one free drink. The after party will take place at The Vogue Lounge at Ondangwa. Doors open at 19h00.
