Miss Curvy Namibia auditions this Saturday

IN Africa, we firmly believe in the beauty of curves, contrary to the global fixation on being skinny.

It’s with this in mind that all beautiful curvy women are invited to audition for the annual Miss Curvy Namibia pageant on Saturday, 26 July.

Last year’s Diamond Queen of Africa (DQOA) pageant saw the finest ladies from over 20 African countries compete for amazing prizes and the title of Africa’s true diamond in the rough. This innovative platform gave ladies who don’t fit ‘traditional pageant criteria’ but rather, are blessed with curves, a chance to show off their endowments in the hopes of garnering the title.

In the run up to the (DQOA) pageant later this year, the organisers have put together Miss Curvy Namibia to find two of Namibia’s finest ladies to represent the Land of the Brave at the pan-African Diamond Queen of Africa pageant, which takes place in Zimbabwe later this year.

Miss Curvy Queen will take along her first princess to the pan-African event, which will have 19 other participating countries.

With the theme being Models Against Hunger in Africa, each model will have to identify a family hosting an orphan and do research on their living standards and how best to improve their plight. The overall queen will become the brand ambassador for the DQOA orphans and will use their title to raise awareness and seek assistance for these causes.

Besides a whole host of prizes, the winners will also receive a luxury weekend at Victoria Falls for herself and a partner.

“It’s not about size, it’s the shape and spirit that represent African beauty and we want to celebrate this while investing in our young women for the good of our communities.” said Malvern Mhene, organiser of the event.

The auditions will take place at house number 7 at the corner of Alder and Freud Streets, in Windhoek North and is open to ladies between the ages of 18 and 30.
