Mi Casa poised to thrill their Namibian fans

NAMIBIAN music fans can gear themselves up for an evening of exciting music when the sensational South African House Music group Mi Casa returns to Windhoek for another live show scheduled for the Independence Arena next Friday, 1 November.

Buoyed by the exciting reviews their latest hit ‘Jika’ is currently receiving, the Johannesburg-based award-winning trio, who just released their second album titled ‘Su Casa’ are on a promotional tour to introduce their latest offering to their fans around the world.

“The group has refined their act and their Namibian fans can brace themselves for a spectacular evening of top class entertainment. They have grown as a group and they are coming with a lot of experience, which they have gained through their shows overseas,” enthused Dodo Snyders of Global Entertainment, the promoters of the show.

Consisting of Dr Duda, Mo-T and lead singer J-Something, Mi Casa have taken the South African music by storm since their formation in 2011.

All the three members are coming with a heavy music background with Dr Duda, who is responsible for the production of the music, is a former member of a gospel band in which he played the keyboard.

Saxophonist Mo-T must have inherited his musical prowess from his father, Kgasoane Banza, who used the grace the international music scene as a member of the heralded Afropop band Mango Groove.

J-Something, real name Joao, is originally from Portugal, but has been living in South Africa since the age of seven, was a studio manager before the formation of Mi Casa for which he is the lead singer.

They have since clinched several awards like Best Dance Album for ‘Mi Casa Music’; Group Of The Year and Record Of The Year, for Mi Casa Music, all won at the 18th South African Music Awards in 2012.

Mi Casa will be joined on stage by Namibia’s star performer Gazza who has the talent to out-stage the visitors from South Africa.

Gazza has been responsible for a couple of spectacular performances of late with his most recent being during his old buddy The Dogg’s album launch at the Khomasdal Stadium a fortnight ago.

The event promises to be an exciting one as Gazza has a few house hits of his own like ‘Kwateni Omunona’ and ‘Tufike Apa’ who both became street anthems in their own right.

Other acts on the bill are Cellos Deep, DJ Sylance and Master Jam from South Africa.

Meanwhile, the organisers promised top class security for the event.

“Anyone who thinks that he is coming to the stadium with other intentions than enjoyment can rest assured they will be sorted out by our security. We want people to come and enjoy the show and we are not going to tolerate any funny stuff from hooligans,” Snyders warned.

Damage is N$150 and tickets can be bought via Computicket at Shoprite and Checkers outlets throughout the country.
