A Windhoek resident has won a newly built house worth N$600 000 at Osona Village near Okahandja through the retailer’s 36th birthday promotion linked to its Metro rewards card programme.
The winner, Ndahafa Mateus, was announced on Wednesday during the grand finale. Three finalists were invited to Osona Village and asked to test three sets of keys, with only one opening the front door of the two-bedroom house.
The promotion ran from November 2025 to January 2026, with customers automatically entered into the draw every time they made a purchase using their Metro rewards card.
According to a statement by retailer Metro Namibia, to help the winner settle in, the retailer also included a N$10 000 Metro Home voucher, while Bennett Read sponsored electrical appliances worth N$20 000, including a fridge, microwave and top-loader washing machine.
The two runners-up, Cornelia Shilongo and Imanuel Nafuka, each received Metro shopping vouchers worth N$20 000 and dual 9-litre air fryers as consolation prizes.
Metro Namibia managing director Bryan Davis says the competition reflects the retailer’s commitment to rewarding loyal customers in meaningful ways.
“Being able to hand over the keys to a brand-new home is incredibly special for us. Through our Metro rewards programme, we want to show appreciation to the customers who support us every day,” he says.
