Meat Board to handle small stock exports

THE Ministry of Agriculture yesterday gave the Meat Board permission to administer exports of goats and sheep to other markets, while the export restrictions of last month will be lifted.

Drought forced farmers to send hundreds of animals to abattoirs, which now have a waiting period of six weeks.
