President Nangolo Mbumba on Friday conveyed a message of condolences to Kenyan president William Ruto following the deaths of the Kenya Defence Forces head, general Francis Ogolla, and military officials in a helicopter crash.
Mbumba said he learned with sadness of the helicopter crash in which Ogolla and nine other military officials died.
Mbumba extended his condolences to Ruto, the bereaved families and the people of Kenya.
“The people and the government of the Republic of Namibia stand with the fraternal people of Kenya during this difficult hour of grief,” he stated.
Ogolla (62) was killed in a helicopter crash about 400 kilometres north-west of Nairobi on Thursday.
Before Ruto appointed him as Kenya Defence Forces chief in April 2023, Ogolla served as commander of the Kenya Air Force for three years, starting in 2018.
