Matter of Fact: Martin Shipanga

Martin Shipanga

On Wednesday, 29 November 2023, we published an article titled, ‘Shipi FM ordered to reinstate two retrenched employees’.

The article stated that the radio station’s owner, Martin Shipanga, did not respond to a WhatsApp message sent to him. He did in fact respond, but his comments were erroneously not included in the article.

His comments were that the two employees in question were informed in writing that they are reinstated and will be compensated. “But they do not have to tender their services and are not allowed access to our operations and offices, and the appropriate legal procedure will take place from herein out. That is all we can say on this matter at this stage,” he said. We regret and apologise for the error.
