Matricide case delayed

THE case of Natangwe Iipinge Ngatjizeko (27), accused of murdering his mother in Windhoek in December, returned to the Katutura Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Fenny Iipinge’s body, riddled with stab wounds, was found in her living room late on the afternoon of Sunday, December 17 2006. She had apparently also been scalded with hot water.Police arrested Ngatjizeko a day after the murder.He was admitted to hospital immediately, however, as he had to be treated for injuries, including cuts and burns to his hands.During his first court appearance in December, Ngatjizeko was still in hospital, which forced the court to remove the case from the court roll temporarily.After his stay in hospital, Ngatjizeko was detained at the Katutura Police Station, where he is still being held.His case was yesterday postponed until March 13, when he is set to plead to the charge against him.The late Iipinge was the former personal assistant to Namibia’s former First Lady, Kovambo Nujoma.Ngatjizeko is her son from a past relationship with Trade Minister Immanuel Ngatjizeko.She had apparently also been scalded with hot water.Police arrested Ngatjizeko a day after the murder.He was admitted to hospital immediately, however, as he had to be treated for injuries, including cuts and burns to his hands.During his first court appearance in December, Ngatjizeko was still in hospital, which forced the court to remove the case from the court roll temporarily.After his stay in hospital, Ngatjizeko was detained at the Katutura Police Station, where he is still being held.His case was yesterday postponed until March 13, when he is set to plead to the charge against him.
