Swapo secretary general Sophia Shaningwa has confirmed that South African music sensation Master KG is expected to perform at the party’s manifesto launch in Windhoek on Saturday.
The ‘Jerusalema’ hitmaker is lined up to perform alongside other South African artists, including DJ and music producer Heavy-K, and pop duo Blaq Diamond.
Local artists who will be performing at Sam Nujoma Stadium include Top Cheri, veteran reggae artist Ras Sheehama, and Tate Buti, among others.
“The launch programme will be brief – about an hour – so the rest of the event is really all about being happy and having fun for both young and old.
“I myself will be on the dance floor,” Shaningwa says.
The performing South African artists have by Thursday evening not posted on social media that they are performing in Namibia.
Swapo has revealed that is has collected N$16 million through a fundraising gala dinner in Windhoek last Friday, which will be used for its election campaign.
