Mario AKM marks comeback with faith-inspired single

Augusto Mario

Namibian hip-hop, R&B and afro artist Augusto Mario, better known as Mario AKM, has released his new single titled, ‘The Day The Lord Has Made’.

The track, featuring Kimberly Ocean and Boas, marks his first release of 2025 and his return to the music scene after what he describes as a “season of growth and silence”.

The song was mixed and mastered by Façade Inc Studios and released under Rebel Attitude Entertainment (Rae).

Formed in March this year and officially launched on 17 September, Rae currently manages two artists, including Mario AKM. His previous songs include ‘Stepz’, ‘Break It Down’, ‘Mwatokewlapo’, ‘Spot Secured’, ‘Friends’, and ‘Family Problems’.

Speaking about the new release, Mario AKM says the song carries a message of purpose, faith and renewal, themes he believes many young Namibians can relate to.

“For me, the song is more than just music. It is a declaration of faith, resilience and rebirth. This song is about me stepping back into the light after a season of inner work. It’s me saying: ‘I know who I am now. I know God’s hand is on me. I know my time is now,’ he says.

He adds that the collaboration with Ocean and Boas gives the song a sense of completeness. “With Kimberly’s radiant introduction and Boas’ closing words, the track feels like a moment of arrival,” he says.

Looking ahead, Mario AKM says fans can expect more consistent releases this year, with music that speaks to both “the dreamer’s faith and the fighter’s fire.”

“As a Namibian-born artist redefining African hip-hop with purpose and power, my mission is to elevate the sound, image and mindset of a new generation, one built on self-mastery, divine timing and relentless excellence,” he says.
