ONE of Namibia’s foremost choral groups, the Maranatha Singers under the baton of an experienced local conductor Evy George, is touring Germany from May 1 to 22 this year.
The choir is a group of 45 experienced and talented people from diverse cultural, ethnic and language backgrounds who share a passion for the rich Namibian and African repertoire. The choir’s repertoire also includes classical, religious and secular Western songs.Maranatha Singers are best known for their outstanding performances at prestigious events such as corporate and charity concerts, choral festivals, guest choir at spotlight concerts and choral outreaches with other choirs.George is excited by the group of choir members she is travelling with. ‘This will be a great experience for my singers and I am happy for them, because of their dedication and hard work they show,’ she said.The choir will also be performing on April 13 at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) before they depart for Europe.For more information, and to provide support for the choir contact Evy George at evy@mweb.com.na /0812554072 or Ivan Scheffers at ischeffers@mec.gov.na.
