Maradona plans to lose weight

BUENOS AIRES – Diego Maradona is smoking too many cigars, putting on weight and is planning a trip to Switzerland to get himself back into shape, his doctor said on Saturday.

The former Argentina captain, who lost around 30 kilos after a stomach-stapling operation in 2005, has visibly put weight back on in the last few months. “Maradona’s diet has become somewhat lax so we’re planning a type of holiday,” Alfredo Cahe told the Radio 10 station.”We’re are seeing if it’s possible for him to leave the country for a while to get away from his friends and entourage,” said Cahe, naming Switzerland as the most likely destination.”He has been smoking three or four cigars a day and for somebody who didn’t smoke at all, it’s too many,” Cahe added.Nampa-Reuters”Maradona’s diet has become somewhat lax so we’re planning a type of holiday,” Alfredo Cahe told the Radio 10 station.”We’re are seeing if it’s possible for him to leave the country for a while to get away from his friends and entourage,” said Cahe, naming Switzerland as the most likely destination.”He has been smoking three or four cigars a day and for somebody who didn’t smoke at all, it’s too many,” Cahe added.Nampa-Reuters
