Man survives fire in Kavango West

A 31-year-old man from Mbome village in the Kavango West region on Friday escaped a fire after a male suspect allegedly set his sleeping room on fire.

The incident happened at around 20h00.

According to the police weekend crime report released on Sunday, police spokesperson deputy commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said the suspect’s belongings, valued at N$7 780, were burnt to ashes.

Shikwambi said the victim was burnt on his feet.

“The suspect is known, but he is yet to be arrested and police investigations continue,” Shikwambi said.
