A resident of Windhoek’s Greenwell Matongo area allegedly slit his wife’s throat before taking his own life on Wednesday.
Johannes Kaluwapa (38) slit his own throat after allegedly killing Izulina Shilombo with a kitchen knife.
Namibian police spokesperson Elifas Kuwinga says Kaluwapa died at the scene.
“Eurico was in a critical condition as the medical team tried to resuscitate her at the crime scene before she was rushed to hospital, where she died,” he says.
Kuwinga says a preliminary investigation revealed that the couple was married and separated for a while before reuniting last month.
Their next of kin have been informed of the incident, Kuwinga says.
