Man killed at Swakopmund

Ui-Basen Nowaseb (21) was killed at Swakopmund’s DRC’s area on Saturday.

He was allegedly on his way home from a bar with two friends.

Nowaseb was said to have walked ahead of his friends when he was attacked by an unknown man.

The suspect and Nowaseb allegedly fought for a while before the suspect fled the scene.

Nowaseb allegedly shouted that he was stabbed, stumbled, and collapsed.

Erongo police spokesperson chief inspector Ileni Shapumba says he was declared dead at the scene by Swakopmund State Hospital staff members.

“The suspect was short, dark in complexion, speaks Oshiwambo, had a music box and was dressed in a yellow shirt, hat and shorts. . . A sharp object that looks like a knife was found at the scene,” he says.

The suspect has not been identified yet.

The police are appealing to anyone with information on the incident to contact deputy commissioner Erastus Iikuyu at 081 246 4757, detective warrant officer Cletius Kabuku at 081 391 0671, or the nearest police station.

Police investigations continue.
