Man dies at Rössing solar construction site

A man working on a solar plant construction project at the Rössing Uranium mine near Swakopmund died on Wednesday after an incident at the construction site.

Rössing Uranium Limited acting managing director Martin Tjipita said in a statement that operations at the solar plant construction site have been suspended until further notice as a result of the incident.

“Details of the deceased cannot be released until the next of kin have been informed,” Tjipita said.

Erongo police spokesperson chief inspector Ileni Shapumba confirmed that the police attended to the incident and will provide a report at a later stage.
