Man arrested over tourist robbery

A man (28) appeared in the Outapi Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of robbery after he allegedly broke into a tourist’s tent on Friday.

The incident took place at Okapika campsite at Ruacana in the Omusati region.

The man allegedly stole some items after opening the tent’s padlock, gaining entry.

“He stole one Nikon camera, valued at N$2 199, a white Samsung camera F2.5 bright lens, costing N$470, one electric shaving machine charger, valued at N$270, a cabled shaving machine, valued at N$300, and a hat valued at N$150,” Omusati police crime investigations coordinator Malakia Simaho says.
