Man arrested over girlfriend’s murder

A man (36) allegedly killed his girlfriend in a panga attack at their shack at Epanya village at Okatana on Monday.

According to Oshana deputy commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, the couple, who had been living together, have a three-year-old son. The deceased (31) was allegedly murdered in front of her son.

Ndjadila says after allegedly killing his girlfriend, the suspect took his son in a wheelbarrow to his mother’s homestead 600 metres away.

The suspect’s mother asked him where the child’s mother was.

The suspect’s mother says back at the shack they found the door wide open with the deceased lying in a pool of blood on the floor.

“They called her but she did not respond or move. They found a panga next to her body and it is believed to have been used to attack her,” Ndjadila adds.

The body was taken to the Oshakati police mortuary and the crime scene was documented. Ndjadila says the police are investigating the incident.
The deceased is originally from Ohailulu village at Endola.
