Man accused of murdering children stays in custody

Thomas Sheya (33), the biological father of the two minor children who were murdered at Onkani village in the Oshikoto region was denied bail by the state on Tuesday.

Sheya appeared before magistrate Nelao Ya France in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court. His matter was remanded to 23 March 2026 to allow for further investigation into the matter and due to fear of possible interference with the witnesses.

Sheya is facing two murder cases after he allegedly murdered his two minor children, Russa Sheya (4) and Andreas Sheya (2), on Sunday night.

State prosecutor Justine Shigwedha says the suspect allegedly strangled the children to death.
