Man accused of killing teenager in shower attack in Ohangwena

The police in the Ohangwena region are investigating an incident in which a teenager died after he had been attacked with a bottle while taking a shower.

The incident occurred at the village Oshikunde on Friday.

According to the police, the suspect, who is 43 years old, and the deceased had lunch together before the deceased went home to take a shower.

The suspect followed him and hit him with a bottle on the left ear, causing a deep wound.

“The deceased was found lying unconscious and was rushed to the hospital at Eenhana, where he died the following day,” reported the police’s crime investigation coordinator in Ohangwena, deputy commissioner Melanie Mburu.

Mburu added that investigations indicate that the suspect has a mental illness.
