IN connection with your headline about Air Namibia taking another loan, this time N$86 million to keep afloat, and also the letter from Anon.

I agree with all he says about Air Namibia being a drain on the taxpayer. What the hell are all these big bosses doing, obviously they don’t have a clue on how to run an airline.Surely the Cabinet can’t be so stupid not to see that they are just dragging it down and down.I was reading an article in the latest addition of an aviation magazine, World Airnews, where there was a piece about Kenya Airways, which has ended with a half year profit of KSH 2.2 billion (approx N$184 million). How come they can do it and our people can’t? Maybe Air Namibia should ask them to send some of their people to take an in-depth look at our operations. This cannot go on for ever. All our airline does is to fly to Frankfurt four times a week and London three times a week, as well as the regional and local flights.Kenya Airways operates to London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Mumbai, Hong Kong and Bangkok as well as their local and regional destinations.Makes one think, doesn’t it?
