Make a Friend

My favourite thing to do when I get to new and unfamiliar places is to make friends. If you don’t like making friends, it might be the reason you aren’t having really cool experiences and trying new things.

I encourage you, when you go out to any place, wear a smile and introduce yourself to everyone that you can, you never know if one of them might become your friend or a close and personal confidant.

How do you know what is in the world if you aren’t willing to go out and explore it? Why not make a friend or two along the way, it cannot hurt.

So here’s how can you achieve friendships if you are struggling: When you are at school or at the shop, say “hi” and “bye” and be very polite. People will see that you are a good person and especially by your smile or wave, they will want to get to know you.

I know our parents say “don’t talk to strangers” and for being safe, they are correct. Sometimes, however, a stranger might just be a best friend we haven’t met yet. Go for it.

People sometimes struggle to make friends because they are shy or anti-social or scared of fake friends and being rejected. This is normal. Fear keeps us on our toes and makes sure we aren’t the type of people we wouldn’t want to be friends with.

So if you don’t want a fake friend, don’t be a fake friend. Just be yourself and give out all the love you can and the world will return it.

Go outside, get some sunshine and make a friend.
