Lukato’s party boasts with 700 new members

The National Democratic Party (NDP) has received 700 new party members in the Zambezi region ahead of the regional council and local authority elections.

The NDP scored some success in the national elections last year by securing one seat in the National Assembly, and also has one seat in the Katima Mulilo Town Council.

During a gathering at Katima Mulilo on Sunday, NDP president and member of parliament Martin Lukato endorsed 30 candidates that will represent the party in the November elections.

Lukato urged the new members and candidates to work together in unity for the people of Namibia.

“Let us work together to build a brighter future for all Namibians. NDP is committed to serving the people and ensuring that our resources benefit those who own them. I warmly welcome our new members who have joined our ranks, bringing fresh energy and determination to our cause. I urge our candidates to campaign in a peaceful manner and to ensure that we become triumphant during the upcoming elections. We should win all constituencies,” he said.

Lukato also introduced the party’s shadow cabinet members that will serve for the next five years and urged them to hold the government accountable.

“We recognise the dedication of our shadow cabinet members who provide visionary leadership and hold our government accountable,” he said.
