Lüderitz is preparing to welcome visitors and locals alike to its much anticipated Lüderitz Annual Crayfish Festival.
The festival kicked off on Tuesday and wilk end on 5 May. It promises the opportunity to celebrate the town’s maritime culture while indulging in various seafood dishes.
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Safeguarding our ocean riches’.
“The Lüderitz crayfish festival trust is proud to invite all Namibians, stakeholders, businesses and international guests to the highly anticipated 18th annual crayfish festival”, says the trust’s social media account.
“This iconic event celebrates not only our renowned rock lobster, but also the rich cultural diversity, entrepreneurial spirit and unique tourism offerings of the Lüderitz community and the broader //Kharas region”.
Visitors will be treated to a vibrant expo, seafood extravaganza, kiddies park, music bash and more.
Festival attendee Stefano Eiman says he looks forward to the food displays as well as the beach party and music bash.
