“I am less interested in being the loudest person in the room and more interested in being the one who learns the most,” says Namibian singer Yeezir.
The artist, who first rose to prominence during the 2020 lockdown, is entering a new chapter with the release of his latest single, ‘Perfect Timing’.
Written in 2025, Yeezir (25) says “I chose to hold the song for a year, waiting for a moment that mirrored the track’s title’’.
He describes the release as “a song for the soul”, highlighting his growth from a teenage breakout act to an artist with a deeper perspective.
Known for his ‘lover boy’ persona, Yeezir uses this record to explore meaningful expressions of romance, encouraging a narrative where men are comfortable being vulnerable.
He says while his previous work was designed to get people on the dance floor, ‘Perfect Timing’ invites the audience to sit back and truly listen.
Beyond the music, the artist is becoming a vocal advocate for professionalism within the local industry. Having navigated the Namibian scene for over five years, he says “creativity alone is rarely enough to sustain a career in 2026”.
He credits his own stability to strategic partnerships with corporate brands, advising fellow artists to maintain a “clean brand” to attract lucrative opportunities that build a professional CV.
Yeezir, however, remains candid about the systemic hurdles facing local talent. He says he is currently on a mission to challenge the status quo, pushing for fairer compensation and greater respect from major organisations.
“My outlook for the year is to simply forgive past mistakes, stay true to my original motivations, and keep the music flowing.”
As he prepares for upcoming projects, he promises his supporters it will remain “lover boy season” all year long.
