PLEASE allow me space in your newspaper on the issue of dog abuse.
I am a 12-year-old boy and would like dog owners to know about my concern for these useful creatures. Dog abuse is very common amongst Namibians and it is growing alarmingly.Dog owners are leaving their dogs to starve when they go on holiday, people throw stones, harm and abuse the poor creatures not knowing that they would sacrifice their own lives for them.Drivers don’t stop when a small, defenceless puppy crosses the road and run them over without a care in the world. Many residences have dogs but don’t feed them, care for them or love them but instead starve, abuse and in some cases kill them.My message to careless dog owners is if you can’t care for a dog, then don’t own one: instead call the SPCA (Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals) and they can find them loving homes.G AbsaiDog abuse is very common amongst Namibians and it is growing alarmingly.Dog owners are leaving their dogs to starve when they go on holiday, people throw stones, harm and abuse the poor creatures not knowing that they would sacrifice their own lives for them.Drivers don’t stop when a small, defenceless puppy crosses the road and run them over without a care in the world. Many residences have dogs but don’t feed them, care for them or love them but instead starve, abuse and in some cases kill them.My message to careless dog owners is if you can’t care for a dog, then don’t own one: instead call the SPCA (Society For The Prevention Of Cruelty To Animals) and they can find them loving homes.
