Since we have just celebrated Valentine’s Day recently and are still in the month of love, February, I found it fitting to put my two cents into raising awareness and spreading love, as well as emphasise the importance of love in our lives and for our existence altogether!
The Bible tells us that love is the greatest commandment of all and that we should do all things with love. I think that it’s very thoughtful that there is actually a day specially set aside for us to celebrate love. Still I feel like love should be celebrated each and every day of our lives.
Love gives life meaning, and life gives love purpose, without love life is just not worth living; it’s boring and dull.
Love comes in different forms and each of us has a different perception as to what love is and what it means to us, however, there’s one thing that we can all agree on that love is selfless and if it is pure and sincere, it is unconditional.
Love fulfils life – in order for our lives to be complete, love must be a part of the equation. Without love, life would just be a mere illusion. Love always sees the best and beauty in everything and everyone.
The late Mother Theresa once said that when we truly and earnestly love someone, we have no time to judge them and that is an undeniable fact! It’s safe to say that life is a garden and love the water, because love makes life bloom.
Love doesn’t discriminate, neither does it boast or envy, nor is it proud on the contrary. Love is kind, patient and always willing to forgive. It doesn’t matter whether we fall in love with love at first sight or simply opt to grow in love; one thing is for certain that love will always pave the way forward.
When love is the foundation of our lives, our lives become steady and fruitful. The fundamental rule of love – as per my status quo – is to love ourselves first and foremost before loving someone else, because how can we expect to fill a glass from an empty jar? We can never give what we don’t have to begin with.
I am not quite convinced by the phrase that says “love is blind”, I am of the opinion that love knows and recognises all our imperfections and flaws, still it chooses to overlook all our human defects and embraces and accepts them all as they are.
Where there is an overflow of love, there is an abundance of life. We will never be able to fully grasp life just like we won’t be able to define love; it’s for us to live and experience them all their glory!
We need to realise that love is always with us and within us and that life is for us and on that note, let’s selflessly share and embrace love in this month of love and forevermore.
