MULLAGHMORE – France’s Sebastien Loeb, in a Citroen C4, won the Rally of Ireland, the penultimate leg of the 16-race world championship, yesterday.

The triple world champion’s victory enabled him to leapfrog Marcus Gronholm, who crashed out of this rally on Friday, into top spot of the drivers’ standings, with a seven-point lead.
