TO get more Namibians engaged in the love of reading, more local stories need to be told.
Aiming to do just this is Wordweaver Publishing House, which was launched in Windhoek on Saturday evening. The event was attended by writers, editors, members of the media and the public.Wordweaver aims to publish novels written by Namibians or novels based in Namibia and hopes to publish five titles in 2012.Bryony van der Merwe, owner of this new venture, said there are many talented writers in Namibia who would benefit from Wordweaver. In addition, there is growing interest, both locally and internationally, in authentic Namibian stories. With a decade of experience in publishing in Namibia, Van der Merwe called on aspiring writers to submit their work in all genres. For more information, e-mail wordweaver@iway.na.
