Lethal Louis fires BA to win

BLACK Africa and Brave Warriors lethal striker Jerome Louis, extended his tally to nine goals to head the premiership scoring chart after firing his side to a 4-1 win over Mighty Gunners at the Khomasdal Stadium on Sunday.

Louis, possibly one of the most underrated strikers in the country, scored a hat-trick for BA and managed to extend his tally to nine goals in the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL), despite his side languishing in mid-table.
Mighty Gunners, coached by assistant coach Erastus Kuume in the absence of Dawid Snewe, who left the side last week, forced BA into a draw until the break.
But trouble started in the second half when Louis ran in three goals, before his team-mate Lindon Aseb was also on target to finish a good day at the office for the players. Percy Khairabeb scored the only goal for Gunners.
With the win, BA are now in sixth spot with 13 points after nine games and Louis has scored nine goals from their current total of 17.
SKW regained their first spot on Saturday after condemning Chief Santos to a 4-0 defeat.
SKW are now on 21 points, with Eleven Arrows, who were simply too good for Tigers in their 5-2 victory, second on 19 points.
Arrows also saw Muna Katupose coming away with a hat-trick on the day, while Tigers coach Willem Kapukare will have to go back to the drawing board and make a serious assessment of their weaknesses, despite practising target shooting for most of last week.
STARS ARE BRIGHT
African Stars are third on the log and their current unbeaten record shows that they are championship material after pulling a 1-0 victory over a determined Orlando Pirates on Friday night.
Stars attracted an awesome number of red-clad spectators to the stadium who partied well into the morning hours at their favourite ‘Herero Mall’ hangout spot, as if the side had won the league title.
Despite the commitment from the players and full backing from the supporters, Stars still have to find their way to league glory with 15 matches to go. Stars are now joined on 19 points with Pirates.
Tomorrow, Stars will come up against their biggest foes in Tigers at the Khomasdal Stadium in a crucial derby that both teams will try to win at all costs.
Tigers go in as underdogs, but Stars will not take their opponents lightly as they can be unpredictable and Civics, who lost 2-0 earlier last week, know better.
Civics meet SKW on Friday, while BA will face Orlando Pirates at the Hage Geingob Stadium on Saturday in another derby.
Stars travel to Oshakati on Saturday to make up for their two games in hand, while Chief Santos host Mighty Gunners in Tsumeb. Arrows, with a match in hand, will host Hotspurs, while on Sunday, Ramblers take on Tigers, who also have a match in hand.
