Miss World Namibia 2022 Leoné van Jaarsveld says she is honoured to represent her country at the Miss World 2023 pageant which is currently being held in New Delhi, India, until 9 March.

The opening ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Ashok Hotel.

Van Jaarsveld’s opening dress was made by Namibian designer Plaubscher and her custom jewellery is from Stergiadis Leather Productions and Jewellery Creations.

Van Jaarsveld says green is her favourite colour, which represents growth, stability and kindness.

“What an incredible honour it is to wear my custom-made collection by Stergiadis Leather Productions and Jewellery Creations, each unique and specially designed and made for the formal opening of the 71st edition of the well-know international pageant.”

Van Jaarsveld says she takes immense pride in being a Namibian and embarking on this journey to showcase that our nation possesses the same calibre and international excellence as any competing country.

“Along this unique path, I diligently seek collaboration with local Namibian companies, ensuring that every attire and requirement I present on the global stage reflects the authenticity and beauty of my beloved homeland,” she says.
