Leather Mein scoops car deal

Artist and entrepreneur Toivo Nuugulu, also known as Leather Mein, was announced brand ambassador for M&Z Motors Windhoek Mercedes-Benz on Friday.

To successfully fulfil this role, the artist has bagged a Mercedes Benz GL63 V8 bi-turbo for one year.

The ‘Bestie’ hitmaker says the opportunity is a dream come true.

“This achievement is proof that when you dream big it can manifest. This is a big opportunity for me and I am glad to be part of the group,” he says.

Leather Mein says he will use the car to travel to music events in style.

He says the wheels are prefect for the community work he plans to start doing later this month.

“I will be travelling to various schools and do motivational talks. I will be discussing many topics, including the importance of entrepreneurship. I want to inspire the youngsters.”

Ekko Eisenberg, dealer principal at M&Z Motors Windhoek Mercedes-Benz, says the aim of the sponsorship is to support Leather Mein’s career.

“I’ve personally known Leather Mein for the past seven years now. Through the sponsorship, we will support his development while also promoting our brand. The one-year contract is renewable,” Eisenberg says.

John Max, chief executive officer of the Namibian Society of Composers and Authors of Music (Nascam), says he is pleased that an artist is receiving such support.

“Gone are the days when corporates had to call in people from outside. We have talent here and I am pleased to see Leather Mein’s recognition. This occasion will surely set an example to other companies. We should start making use of our artists. They are great role models for the youth,” Max says.

He says the opportunity will also teach Leather Mein marketing skills to add to his career.
