Various National Assembly lawmakers on Wednesday said they want outstanding bills to be finalised before parliament concludes.
This was said during the resumption of the National Assembly.
United Democratic Front lawmaker Apius Auchab stated that the regional constituency development fund bill is long overdue.
“This bill is long overdue. Because how can we develop infrastructures without funds as regional constituencies,” he said.
Despite the time constraint faced by parliament, Auchab said the bill can be passed before 21 March.
He further stated that the road bill is also important.
National United Democratic Organisation secretary general Joseph Kauandenge said despite the short time left, the public gathering bill must be passed citing its importance to the public.
He said this will clarify the confusion around public gatherings which have led to clashes between the police and the public.
