Lady Lundy’s star rising

Lady Lundy is ready to inspire through her gospel music.

FRANSINA Haiduwa, better known by her stage name Lady Lundy, is a rising star in gospel music scene.

Lady Lundy’s debut album ‘Omafiku Ange’ (Psalm 39:4), which was released last year, received positive reviews.

Jux Adolf of Tulela Music Production produced the album.

The 26-year-old Lady Lundy from Olunghono Village in the Ohangwena region said the late Lundi Tyamara, a South African gospel icon inspired her.

Lady Lundy says the main reason she chose to pursue a career in gospel music was to use her songs to inspire, uplift, instruct, and cure individuals who were suffering in life.

Her debut album is available for streaming on online platforms.

‘Omafiku Ange’, which is among the best gospel songs she has ever written, serves as a reminder to everyone to understand the fleeting nature of life.

The singer advises, “Do everything you do as if it’s your last time.

Encouragement can also be found in the song ‘Efindano’, which means “victory. The song gives listeners hope, courage and strength.

Another song, ‘Woo Omwene’ is about young people dying.

“Most of the young people have chosen to live their lives in spite of God, and many of them are quite distant from his word. It’s imperative that we repent of our sinful behaviour and seek God’s face before it’s too late,” says Lady Lundy, adding that sometimes these deaths may be God’s punishment.

This month, Lady Lundy also released a popular wedding song ‘Say ‘I Do’, produced by DJ Chronic, which featured Legg-Ghetto, a kwaito artist, and the composer of the hit song,‘Konima Yobashu’.

The song was released in honour of this season’s marriages in Namibia.

She encourages fellow musicians, particularly gospel ones, to think about marketing their songs on online platforms because, according to her, 95% of the musicians in the local gospel industry lack marketing abilities.

“I want people to know me through this album. I want to be known through my debut album. If it takes years to be known in the music business, then I won’t mind repeatedly promoting the same album.”

Lady Lundy plans to put in more work to advance her career as a musician.

“I want to advance professionally in the music industry and gain recognition as a leading gospel music performer around the world. In order to convey the tale in an engaging manner, I truly want to be there to serve the narrative and let my audience experience what the characters feel, says Lady Lundy.

She adds that she will ensure that she sheds light on key moments of tension and drama.

“People are waging quiet conflicts, so they need more consoling and soul-healing songs, and it’s my daily dream to create more albums,” she says.

Lady Lundy plans to to film a music video.
