Labour minister’s daughter dies at age 37

Labour, industrial relations and employment creation minister Utoni Nujoma’s daughter’s body was discovered in a riverbed in Cimbebasia, Windhoek on Friday.

This was confirmed by police spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi.

Shikwambi said it is alleged that two security guards went in the nearby bushes to fetch firewood when they discovered 37-year-old Niita Nujoma’s body in the riverbed after having taken her own life.

They immediately reported the matter.

Earlier this week, a missing person notice noted that Nujoma was last seen on 29 August in Rocky Crest, Windhoek, wearing a grey zip jersey and grey trousers.

Shikwambi said the next of kin have been informed, and investigations continue.
