Krafft brothers lose marathon match

Max and Juta Krafft lost their opening match at the u21 Beach Volleyball Championhips in Pebla, Mexico on Thursday after a marathon three-setter against Vojtech Pavlusek and Vojtech Votava of the Czech Republic. 

In the longest men’s match of the day the Czech pair squeezed out a thrilling 21-13, 18-21, 16-14 victory over the Namibians.

The Krafft brothers even had a match point at 14-13 in the tie-breaker but they could not convert and the Czech pair struck back with three points in a row to win the set and the match. 

In another Pool B game, Even Aas and Jonah Utvik of Norway beat Szymon Beta and Artem Besarab of Poland 21-16, 21-16.
