FLAMBOYANT entrepreneur Knowledge Katti found himself in global publications this week as the paparazzi captured him and US celebrity Angela Simmons on a ‘date’ on Sunday.
The exploration middleman kingpin is a friend of the current Prime Minister Hage Geingob, who is also the Swapo Party’s presidential candidate.
Katti is one of the elite Namibians who have profited handsomely from government oil prospecting licences, despite a lack of commercial oil in the country.
By Monday, the Daily Mail Online featured the photos of Katti and Simmons while wondering who the ‘mystery man’ was. “She’s a fashion designer among many other things. So it’s little wonder that Angela Simmons looked fabulous at a dinner date with a mystery man at Madeo restaurant in the West Hollywood neighbourhood of Los Angeles on Sunday evening,” the publication wrote.
Media TakeOut, which also had no idea who Simmons’ date was, unflatteringly described Katti as “some lite skinned dude with a juicy jheri curl” [sic] .
Any Namibians who saw the photos will tell you that the mystery man is indeed Katti, who is clearly recognisable while sporting a tribal print biker jacket and dark jeans.
Angela Simmons, who is a socialite, fashion designer and daughter of hip-hop legend Rev Run is no stranger to the menacing lenses of the paparazzi.
Her previous high profile relationship with rapper Bow Wow was a constant feature on gossip and entertainment sites.
While she is well known in the States, Katti is equally famous in Namibia and for him, rubbing shoulders with Hollywood’s who’s who is nothing new. He has even brought the likes of Maxwell and Anthony Hamilton to sing at his grandmother’s famous birthday parties.
It is also not the first time Katti has been spotted out with Simmons. The two shared a dinner in Miami a few weeks ago, with Simmons sharing the moment with a picture on her Instagram, captioning it “Dinner with friends”.
Katti could not be reached for comment as his number was unavailable when contacted yesterday.
