One of the decisions that I struggle to make is whether to burn the bridge or cross it.
Whether to walk away or try harder, whether to address an issue or just keep quiet for the sake of peace.
Walking away has its advantages and disadvantages but most of the time the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. Many are left pondering on the decision that is best for you.
You eat even though you are full because you don’t want to hurt the host, you tag along on a mission even though you know it’s gonna fail but you don’t wanna seem unsupportive.
You give your last money to someone in need because somehow you managed to convince yourself their needs are more important than yours.
You cancel plans for a friend or family members birthday or house warming because you somehow strongly believe your presence means more to them than the opportunity or pay check that awaits you.
You accept apologies you never got in the name of being a better and bigger person or repeatedly tell yourself life is too short not to.
You never walk away. You stay, you stay for them.
You stay, even at your detriment you stay.
Are we selfless or stupid? Are we kind or naive?
It is all in your ability to decide that you have had enough.
God was generous with the “kindness spice” when he made strong people like you, perhaps?
Still not sure but the objective is to know when to walk away.
