Kim Kardashian and Kanye West may have to reschedule their Parisian wedding next month after discovering that French law requires a 40-day residency before they can get married in the country.
The couple are set to tie the knot in Paris on 24 May, but they may have to reschedule their big day after the discovery. The French Embassy in Washington D.C told RadarOnline: “All marriages must be performed by a French civil authority before any religious ceremony takes place. The mayor can authorise the deputy mayor or a city councillor to perform the ceremony in the town in which one of the parties to be married has resided for at least 40 days preceding the marriage. These requirements cannot be waived.”
The 36-year-old rapper reportedly has an apartment in the French capital but he doesn’t live there full-time as he currently resides in California with Kim (33).
Meanwhile, the couple – who have 10-month-old daughter North together – were keen for their wedding day to be an experience their 200 guests will never forget, so they have hired out the Trianon Palace Hotel for them to stay in.
A source said previously: “Guests will be greeted with goodie bags containing £300 (approximately N$5250) bottles of Bollinger champagne, £120 (N$2100) Creme de la Mer products, handmade souvenir trinkets with Kim and Kanye’s initials etched in Swarovski crystals, bottles of scent from local perfumeries and £150 (N$2625) vouchers for treatments at the hotel spa.’’
