Kavango to apply for cattle ear tags

RUNDU – The Kavango Region wants to introduce ear tags for cattle next year to properly control the movement of animals within the region.

The Rundu State Veterinarian, Dr Thompson Shuro, told Nampa that this would enable veterinary services to establish the origin of any disease outbreaks in the region. “We want identification tags for cattle in the Kavango Region to be different from that of the Ovamboland area and to control the movement of cattle,” Shuro said.He also announced that a mass vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease is expected to start in the region in two weeks’ time.Nampa”We want identification tags for cattle in the Kavango Region to be different from that of the Ovamboland area and to control the movement of cattle,” Shuro said.He also announced that a mass vaccination campaign against foot-and-mouth disease is expected to start in the region in two weeks’ time.Nampa
