Swakopmund has a new political leadership team, with Swapo town councillor Suama Kautondokwa chosen as the town’s new mayor on Friday.
Kautondokwa, who previously also served as a town councillor, takes over following the local authority’s internal elections.
Eugenia Salomon has been elected as deputy mayor.
The new management committee will be led by councillors Mauritius Amushila, Shivute Angula, Charlene Audrey Hartung and Horst-Uwe Weiman.
Councillors Dina Namubes, Beaulah Nawases, Sem Shilongo Iitembu and Marthinus Kooitjie will serve as ordinary members of the Swakopmund Town Council.
