Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) lawmaker Maximalliant Katjimune submitted a notice of motion in the National Assembly on Tuesday for the assembly to debate and consider merging the National Youth Council (NYC) and the National Youth Service (NYS).
Katjimune said this is to put an end to the duplication of responsibilities, programmes, resources and overlapping policies around the same issue affecting the youth.
“ . . . that this motion be referred to the relevant parliamentary standing committee for further scrutiny and report back to this house,” he said.
