ALEX Kamwi, who is a committee member of the Namibia Ex-Freedom Fighters/War Veterans Association, and who served as consultant to the banned US security company SOC-SMG, contacted The Namibian on Monday to say that he was not ‘recruited’ as written in the story ‘Govt shuts down US firm’ in Monday’s edition.
“Recruitment is rather used in the military and not when hiring a consultant,” Kamwi pointed out. Kamwi is a former members of the Peoples’ Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) and now runs a private detective agency.SOC-SMG approached him to become a consultant a few weeks ago, when two US representatives of SOC-SMG came to Namibia to set up a local branch with the aim to recruit over 3 000 Namibian ware veterans as ‘security’ guards for US military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan.Kamwi is a former members of the Peoples’ Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) and now runs a private detective agency.SOC-SMG approached him to become a consultant a few weeks ago, when two US representatives of SOC-SMG came to Namibia to set up a local branch with the aim to recruit over 3 000 Namibian ware veterans as ‘security’ guards for US military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan.
