Justin Bieber wins big at MTV EMAs

AMERICAN pop singer Justin Bieber won the Best Male award at the MTV EMAs for the sixth year in a row.

The 21-year-old singer – who made a musical comeback this year with his number one song ‘What Do You Mean?’ – picked up the award at the ceremony at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy on Sunday, 25 October. Justin beat out fellow stars Pharrell Williams, Kanye West, Jason Derulo and the award show’s host Ed Sheeran for the gong.

In his acceptance speech, Justin said: “Wow, thank you. It’s been a long couple of years. I just feel like this is pretty awesome to be recognised for my music. I want to thank my fans, my mum, my dad, God and everyone. I love you, thank you”.

Justin was the second most nominated artist at the awards with six nods in total. Bieber also bagged the Biggest Fans award, Best Look, Best Collaboration and Best Canadian Act.

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis opened the show before Jason Derulo took to the stage for his own performance.

Taylor Swift lead the nominations at the annual ceremony and among the accolades, she bagged the awards for Best Song for ‘Bad Blood’, her track with Kendrick Lamar, Best US Act and Best North America Act.

Other winners included: Ed Sheeran, Rihanna, One Direction and Coldplay, amongst others.
