‘Jossie’ Kauandenge returns to politics

POLITICAL party hopper of erstwhile DTA fame Joseph Kauandenge, who made a career change two years ago to become a singer, has returned to politics and landed himself a top post – that of secretary general of the Namibia Democratic Movement for Change (NMDC).

Kauandenge, who has called himself ‘Jossie’ since 2005 and who is known for pronouncing the word ‘politics’ as ‘polotics’, has become a political chameleon over the years. He was the leader of the DTA youth league for several years, then established his own political party, which did not last long, then returned to the DTA fold, but then followed Herero Chief Kuaima Riruako and his Nudo party when they broke away from the DTA.After that was accomplished, Kauandenge for a short while flirted with the Republican Party of Henk Mudge and became an advisor to the party leader. Two years ago, Namibians were informed that Kauandenge had decided to make ‘otjivire’ singing his fulltime career and Joseph became ‘Jossie’, who even became a finalist in the NBC music competition in that category.”As we prepare to become a formidable force in Namibian politics during the 2009 elections, we sincerely believe that Mr Kauandenge with his experience in party politics will help to redirect the party’s fortunes in the next elections,” NMDC’s Frans /Goagoseb noted.
