The International University of Management (IUM) launched its Graduate School of Business and IUM Radio on Thursday in Windhoek.
IUM chairperson Fanuel Uugwanga said the IUM Graduate School of Business will play a pivotal role in shaping knowledge and is a great resource for learning, collaboration and research.
This comes after a memorandum of understanding was signed between IUM and The University of the Witwatersrand from South Africa last month. Uugwanga said the business school and radio will adhere to the new set of skills arising due to the change in demand in artificial intelligence, renewable, oil and gas sectors.
“The IUM Radio will be a catalyst for effective communication with key stakeholders, as well as promoting freedom of speech and expression on matters of interest to the community,” he said.
David Namwandi, the university founder, said the business school and radio will foster an entrepreneurial spirit and advance economic growth. “The business school is crafting the answers to the burning needs of our nations and molding vibrant leaders who will go out there and uplift communities and industries,” he said.
IUM Radio station manager Sally Jason says the station will strengthen the IUM’s vision of steering conversation, knowledge and amplifying the voice of young talents. “This will not only serve as the voice of the people but also offer education, information and a dialogue on important matters within the community,” she said.
The radio station can be accessed on 9.5 FM and through online platforms.
