Itula pledges support to businesses

Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) leader Panduleni Itula has promised to raise the value added tax threshold to N$2 million to allow Namibian businesses to grow.

It is currently pegged at N$1 million.

Itula made these remarks on Saturday during the IPC manifesto launch in Windhoek.

According to him, the government move is essential to support business growth.

Among a raft of promises, Itula said his government will offer paperless government services.

“We will also reform the Development Bank of Namibia,” he said.

According to Itula, such a move will improve the efficiency of the bank.

“We will also expand infrastructure financing to include green financing ,” he said.

Itula said energy is key to industrialise the country.

He also promised a vibrant rail way to improve transport, and to focus on creating employment for the young people.
