Israeli investors to explore Namibia

THE Africa Israel Investments and Tahal Group from Israel are visiting the country to explore possible investment opportunities.

Africa Israel Investments is an international holding and investment company that is involved – among others – in residential and business construction, the construction and management of shopping malls, overseas real estate, tourism and leisure, communication and media as well as in energy. Tahal is Israel’s largest engineering firm and offers engineering services such as reconnaissance studies, planning, design as well as construction supervision and project management.Both Africa Israel and the Tahal companies are part of the Lev Leviev Group, the holding company of Sakawe Mining Corporation (Samicor) that bought a controlling interest in the Namibia Mineral Corporation (NAMCO) The delegation, consisting of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Group, Pinchas Cohen, the Vice-President and Chief Director for Business Development, Avi Nota, and Vise-President and Chief Engineer of the Tahal Group Jossy Harush arrived in the country on Monday and is expected to stay for four days.They will meet with various private and public leaders such as Trade and Industry Minister Jesaya Nyamu, Finance Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Environment and Tourism Minister Philemon Malima, Foreign Affairs Minister Hidipo Hamutenya, the Chief Executive Officer of the Development Bank of Namibia, David Nuyoma, the CEO of the Namibia Tourism Board, Gideon Shilongo, Agriculture, Water and Rural Development Minister Helmut Angula, Works, Transport and Communication Minister Moses Amweelo, Mines and Energy Minister Nickey Iyambo as well as Samicor Director Kombadayedu Kapwanga.The delegation will also pay a courtesy call on President Sam Nujoma at State House tomorrow.On Thursday, the delegation will visit Swakopmund and call on the Namibia Ports Authority (NamPort) in Walvis Bay.It is also expected to pay a courtesy call on Walvis Bay Mayor Mandume Mwatunga.The delegation leaves Thursday.- NampaTahal is Israel’s largest engineering firm and offers engineering services such as reconnaissance studies, planning, design as well as construction supervision and project management.
